BEVERAGE BASHA



Mukesh Kumar Tiwari,(26) the bar-in charge in Threesixtyone restaurant(the Oberoi, (Guragaon) is very passionate on beverages. Being the topper in his hotel management college (AIHM in Nainital), he has been blessed with good command over beverage knowledge. Thanks to his then F&B lecturer Prasanth Sharma, who motivated Mukesh to the hilt to specialise on beverage area.


Today, in threesixtyone restaurant, Mukesh dazzles and delights the guests effortlessly by offering innovative cocktails, that too  made in the august presence of the guests.

After his four year course on hotel mgmt, Almora (Uttaranchal) born , Mukesh  joined ITC Sonar Bangla, in Kolkata. After working there for around 18 months, he landed in Gurgaon to be part of the The Oberoi. To enrich his general fund of knowledge on bar tending, he completed a six month course at the Bar Academy, in Vasant  Kunj, New Delhi.

He trains his juniors, involves himself on controlling the inventory, as well as the beverage cost. Come Sunday afternoon, Mukesh will be in full form. Refreshing drinks to sweet drinks to cocktails-mock tails, he can whip up innovative drinks to the guests as per their choice. Flavour, Texture, Colour whatever be the choice of the guests, Mukesh will ensure that it is served as per their  likings.



"Beer based cocktails are most popular in our hotel" says Mukesh, also an Arts Graduate, who firmly believes  that only  with sound  knowledge on beverage, one can become a successful Bartender.

"Build method is perfect for champagne based cocktails; certainly not the shaken method" says Mukesh.

Sample this. Mukesh takes any beer(330 ml)..mixes with it, 120 ml each of Litchi and Orange juice, slices of sweetlime and Orange are also added.. To ensure sweet and sour taste lemon juice and Sugar syrup is also mixed up.... Here you go.. The innovative drink is ready.

Mukesh is a bachelor; but, undoubtedly he is wedded to the Threesixtyone Restaurant.
