                                                              Astute  Ashok

Ashok

Laundry associate Ashok Kumar Nayak (36) is very astute. Sincere in his service delivery. No wonder, he was he was beckoned to join the Westin family in a short span of time.

“ I do my job wholeheartedly” says Odisha born Ashok. He had joined Westin Hyderabad, Mindspace located at Madhapur as a contract based employee in 2019 October. Worked for six months. After Covid was over he joined back last year in June. Got a berth in the payroll department of Westin in Dec 2022. The intentionality of his service delivery had impressed everyone. Hence this honour was given to him.

“As a Laundry delivery boy, Ashok did a good job”, opined P. Madhu, the laundry executive of this hotel, who has been instrumental in teaching and coaching Ashok in his initial days, “whatever task is entrusted to him, those will be executed flawlessly and proactively”.

“Ashok has great thirst for learning. He will approach me without any inhibitions, when it comes to getting his work related doubts cleared", says Vishwas Ballal - the laundry manager of this hotel, “ he is also very good in reverting back to me after finishing the tasks given to him”.

Ashok, who is staying very near the hotel, had worked in a spinning mill at Coimbatore for eight years. After that he went back to his village to run a 'kirana' (grocery) shop which he handed over to his cousin who was then unemployed, before moving to Hyderabad to join the Westin.

“I do experience more happiness in the hotel, while serving the guests” says Ashok who always works in the second shift that that starts at 01 PM. He is married to Manasi and is blessed with two children, Arjun(08) and Bishnu Priya(03). They live with the parents of Ashok at Jajpur, Odisha. Ashok is grateful to one Mr Ramesh, a relative, for giving him the right lead to join the Westin hotel at Hyderabad. Ramesh was working in this company in the pest control team earlier.

'Outstanding workers will always get recognition for their unparalleled contributions' - that's my revelation from the story of Ashok.
