FROM THE COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT, OUTER RING ROAD, BENGALURU

               HONESTY AND DEFINED SERVICE STANDARDS

Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield by Marriott located at Bengaluru outer ring road is a unique hotel in many aspects. It has many first’s to its credit.

For the first time Marriott Fairfield and Courtyard are together in one building - first time in Asia Pacific. For the first time Marriott became a stakeholder in India because of this hotel. This is for the first time Marriott International has entered into a joint venture (with Bengaluru based Samhi Hotels). This 336 room complex (Courtyard 170 rooms and Fairfield 166 rooms) has the highest diversity ratio as far as women workers are concerned. As many as 75 Lady Associates are employed here. The break-even happened in the first three months of operation itself….in other words the hotel started making profits in 90 days from the opening. "Fastest opening" is another feather in the cap of the hotel.”

"I landed in Bengaluru in July 2015 ….by 10 December 2015, we were able to open both the hotel with full inventory" says Gaurav Singh - General Manager of both the hotels, when asked about the fastest opening badge that this hotel wears.

"The hotel is utterly sold out. Hence the first anniversary celebrations will be orchestrated in the last week of December”, quipped Gaurav Singh. "In the last six months we are the market leader in Bengaluru in terms of rates and occupancy”.

Two awards sat softy on the shoulders of this hotel this year. One in February and the other in November 2016. Hotel Investment Conference South Asia (HICSA) presented the “Best New Hotel of the Year Award" in recognition of the outstanding hotel development in the upscale segment. Courtyard by Marriott bagged one more award for the "Best Deal of the Year Award" presented by the Hotel investment Forum of India.

Marriott International has 81 hotels in India presently. In 110 countries with 30 brands under its belt, Marriott has 5700 hotels worldwide.

I was staying in this hotel yesterday.

Gaurav Singh was talking to me soon after finishing the town hall that lasted an hour.  When asked about the secret of this hotel's success he said:  "Honesty, clear path for career progression and defined service standards".

Gaurav Singh - a pedigreed hotelier with 17 years of experience is married to Swati - a homemaker. Blessed with two children- Samarth Vir (8) and Adira (7). Golf, music and travelling are his hobbies.

Character, pedigree and focus...that is Gaurav Singh.
