POSITIVITY
BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS
Computer
savvy Raghavendra (27) a BA graduate
is very optimistic about his profession. "No, it is not a boring job"
he asserts with positivity.
"A
security guard in a hotel need not remain to be just a guard for the rest
of his life. This is a good profession……….Growth opportunities are
aplenty…..just be honest at your work…..always be ready to spend more time at
the workplace ….. so that you can learn more …..and promotions will happen on their
own" says Raghavendra Singh.
What I
found profoundly appealing in him is that he himself has risen very quickly in
his career. He was a Security Guard at a high end luxury apartment (a Singapore
based brand and a first of its kind in India) in New Delhi in 2011. Thereafter
he got promoted as a Security Supervisor in 2013 and ever since July 2014 he
has been working at Fortune Select
Excalibur, Gurgaon as a Security Executive.
“It is really fortunate that the guests of Fortune Hotels know how to conduct themselves”, says Raghavendra. "Thankfully, so far, not even a single incident has been reported wherein we have had to force a guest out of the hotel premises because of their dysfunctional behaviour " he added.
Watching
Hollywood movies is Raghavendra’s hobby.
Married
to Ragini Singh, a homemaker, he
lives in a rented house very close to the hotel in Sohna Road, Gurgaon.
When I asked him “What is your improvement area?” he said “ "I have to improve my spoken English. Nowadays, I am finding it very difficult. But I will certainly work towards it”, he said……once again with his trademark positivity.
