ANGELS FROM NORTH EAST INDIA....8

BY THE GRACE OF "ROSIE"

"Pack your bags and go" instructed Jyotsna Rodriguez, The Executive Housekeeper in Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai, "after reaching home, any help you need, please let us know; we all are with you".

Annie remembers this incident very well. It is very vivid in her memory...year 2012...she was working in Trident Mumbai, as part of the OCLD program....at 3pm call came from her auntie...father is not keeping well…start immediately .......this was the message...she reached home next day afternoon only to know that her Dad is no more.......her beloved Dad had already passed away the previous night.

"It is during these pain moments, I actually realized on the goodness of the Oberoi Group. Our Chairman P R S  Oberoi always says:"People are our great assets". I had experienced this personally when my Dad had passed away....help came from all quarters...like the snap of a finger....people are so humane in Oberoi group" says Mizo girl ANNIE.Z.RENTHLEI(24),presently working as Assistant Manager in the Housekeeping Department in THE OBEROI GRAND, KOLKATA.

Born in Shillong , in Meghalya, brought up in many places in Assam and finally settled in Mizoram, Annie is grateful to her Grandmom(Dad's mom) ROSIE, the Great, who had retired as the Deputy Director, Food & Civil Supplies, North East Region.

"Always shoot for the Moon; at least you will get a few stars" these words of Rosie have impacted Annie in a big way. Mizo is her mother tongue. Annie can also speak, Assamese, English, Hindi and Bengali.

She is a hard working person like any other North East girl. In the  2009-2011 operational trainee batch, Annie happens  to be the only Trainee who got the Golden Star award (the best parameter of those days). After passing out the Operational Training program, she had the good fortune of joining the OCLD. The work experience, as part of the OCLD, in The Amarvilas, Agra, Trident Mumbai and Oberoi New Delhi, made Annie stronger in enriching the general fund of knowledge.

She came back to her home that is The Oberoi Grand at Kolkata in July 2013.

She is a voracious reader. She sings also plays guitar. Listening to Music is her main hobby other than shopping.
