                        MAVERICK MOHAN - WORLD BEATER IN BANQUETS!


"We are in the number one position globally in terms of guest experience index" claims confidently, Mohan Rao Vatti - the Banquet Manager at Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, Hyderabad.

Remember there are 301 Westin hotels all over the world and the guest service index is the result of an online survey done across the guests who have used their banquet space. In other words the guests who used the banqueting facility at Westin Hyderabad  were so delighted, that they gave full marks to this hotel - which is why this rare honour.

The banquets spaces in this hotel are as follows: Ball room, Evolve (both can be divided into three parts) Thrive, Energise and Renew. Plus there are three open spaces - the terrace above the Ball room, the lawns and the pool deck area.

"Nowadays, no manual feedback is taken. Instead guests do give their feedback online. In the online survey we scored the maximum points" says Mohan Rao Vatti with a lot of pride. "On an average we do around 120 events a month which works out to four functions per day. 65% of our clients are Corporates, and the rest are social events -predominantly weddings. This hotel is a great wedding destination" quips Mohan in glee.




The Banquet Brigade of this hotel is 13 members strong. Mohan is assisted by two Assistant Managers (Venkatesh and Shibu), Team Leader Rana Singh and two Bartenders (Satish and Dheeraj) …..the rest are Associates.

Remember this hotel generates employment for around 300 casual workers every month - exclusively from the banquets.

After passing out from the Food Crafts Institute, Vizag Mohan climbed up with Green Park Vizag in 1999. He joined Novotel HICC, Hyderabad in 2006; started his second innings with Green Park, Hyderabad thereafter that lasted till 2009. He then joined the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace in July 2009 as an F&B Attendant; became a team leader in just six months by his sheer hard work…..then worked as an Assistant Manager in banquets for two years....moved to Seasonal Tastes restaurant - the all-day dining venue of this hotel for an year…..and then finally took charge as Banquets Manager in April 2014. There has been no looking back since.

Managing people and events is his passion. 

Mohan is married to Anuradha (working in the Administration Department with Voxvalley, IT Company) and is blessed with a daughter -2 year old Samhita.
