FROM THE RADISSON HYDERABAD, HITEC CITY................7

"PERUM   AALL"

He was just 27. By that time, he had already visited 72 countries!! Unbelievable it seems, but L P Bharathi Perumal had this good fortune, which he promptly attributes to the good deeds of his parents.

"My father is my role model. He taught me " right living-by always doing the right things in life" says Bharathi Perumal. His father Lakshmana Perumal, a retired school teacher and mother Kamalaveni, a homemaker are living in Madurai. Bharathi is presently living in Hyderabad, with his wife Uma, son Jitesh (4 yrs) and daughter Sahasra (2 yrs).

Bharathi Perumal, after passing BSc in Hotel Management from Madurai Kamaraj University started his career as a management Trainee in Le Royal Meridian in Chennai. Providence took him to Dubai. He got a chance to meet-interact-serve world renowned celebrities, as an F & B Butler. He was working with 'one and only Royal Mirage' a seven star Deluxe Hotel with 400 plus rooms in three different blocks spread on over 100 acre area. Perumal was deputed at the Residence and Spa wing. Remember it had 52 Presidential Suites. He served Michael Jackson, the pop king for three days; while Ace Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher tasted his service for a week. Tennis stars Steffi Graff, and Andre Agassi were his guests as well. U.S. Secretary of State James Baker appreciated his services to the hilt (see the file pic where Perumal is seen with Mr and Mrs James Baker... The list of celebrities just goes on and on.

He opted "Silver Sea" cruise liner as his next destination in his  career . This cruise liner had ten 7 Star Deluxe ships. While working, he completed his  Sommelier studies from the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Miami. He was the first Asian ' Maitre ' D Sommelier ' to come out in flying colors. He was just 26 then. Perhaps, the youngest Asian too. He further appeared for the exams to become a Manager. In blind tasting he scored 96% and as Chef de Rang, he lapped up 97.3%. (Interestingly, his brother Guruprasad was a Gold Medallist in Engineering; presently he is based in Saudi Arabia).

Due to his son's ailment, Perumal decided to return to India. Worked with Zuri, (Goa and Bengaluru), Savannah Sarovar Premier, Bengaluru, and Holiday Inn, Kochi. Presently, he is the Executive Asst Manager (F&B) at Radisson Hyderabad, Hitec City.

Conducting wine training classes is his main hobby. Ever since he came back to India, he has been doing the same with every hotel he has been working with. He has got as many 140 slides on wine preparations, in his library which he uses as the study material during his presentations.

Note: In Tamil, Lord Mahavishnu is also known as Perumal. Interestingly, in Tamil, 'Perum aall 'means big man. I swear Bharathi Perumal is a big man indeed. In one year’s time he ensured that the F&B sales of his hotel have doubled!!!. Interestingly, his wife's name is Uma. That is another name for Lord Shiva's wife Parvati…

"Baap Re baap... Parvati is married to Vishnu. Kya baat hai Perumalji.... Maar diyaa aapne !"
