"I  SIMPLY LOVE SERVING THE GUESTS"

                                              

Rajesh Tamang (25), from Nepal was working in the agricultural fields in Nepal before joining the hospitality world. 9th passed, Rajesh started working ever since his dad passed away. He was 14 then.

His mother, younger sister and brother are living in Nepal along with Rajesh’s wife Saraswati, and daughter Sabyata.

Around four years back providence brought to him to Hyderabad. He got a job in Mercure Hotel in Abids, Hyderabad; from here he moved to Lemon Tree and finally 18 months back, he joined Radisson Hyderabad Hitec City. Today, he is a Team Leader in Cascade Restaurant; that serves Indian and world cuisine to the esteemed guests of this hotel.

"Communication has to be effective; one should have deep knowledge on the products and services offered by the hotel, positive attitude and finally, it is experience that matters when it comes to service delivery" says Rajesh.

He told me very clearly:" I love serving the guests". But what I saw was very different- I saw him owning the guests. He is very quick footed; energetic, ready to accept mistakes, if any. No inhibitions to communicate openly with the guests dining in the restaurant.

Today morning Rajesh was serving me during the breakfast session in Cascade Restaurant. Yesterday morning itself I had informed the kitchen that I may need Pesarattu (speciality Dosa of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh)... It should be crisp…circle cut chilly has to be added along with the chopped onions to be filled in the Dosa, Ginger Chutney should be applied on top of the Dosa, I shall come at 8.30am. ......Everything mentioned much ahead.

Today morning when the Dosa came, it was not crisp, chopped onions were missing... I politely corrected Rajesh. Soon, he ensured that the next Pesarattu was as per my liking. He apologized profusely, focused on the service recovery....he is ready to serve...he always radiates enthusiasm at the shop floor.

"Friendliness of the staff members is what I like most in this hotel" quips Rajesh, who is very fond of watching action movies in English.
