FROM THE COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT, GURGAON

PASSIONATE   PARAS

This happened in August 2013. I was having coffee with Kanikaji, the General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon. This was at the western end of the lobby; at the MOMO 2 GO, the standalone outlet, where snacks, coffee and tea are served. Importantly, coffee was served by Paras Gulati, the steward who was manning this outlet. While I was enjoying the coffee, Kanikaji commented: "he makes the best coffee in town". Paras smiled gracefully and graciously.

Now, the story takes a jump. I met Paras (23) in the last week of Feb 2015, at the MOMO Cafe during the breakfast session. He is now more mature and confident. Very passionate in whatever he is doing. He connects with the guests very well. Very responsive to the needs of the guests at the MOMO Cafe, where he is presently deputed.

After passing out from IIHM Delhi, he joined Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon in June 2013. Believe it or not, in just seven months that is in Jan 2014 he was nominated as the 'Associate of the Month' 2014 has been a very good year for Paras, as he was working with astonishing accuracy. No wonder, he was the ' Champ Of the Month in the F&B Department for three months in succession...a rare hat trick indeed.

"I use my mind positively; I always serve from my heart" says Paras Gulati when asked about his success secret. "Work is Worship" is his policy at the shop floor of MOMO Cafe.

Opines Umesh Dalal, F&B manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon: "Paras is very guest oriented; an excellent performer too. He always goes out of the way to serve the guests".

Delhi born Paras stays in the hotel accommodation, very close to the hotel. His father is a businessman, mom is a homemaker. Younger brother and grandfather live with his parents in Delhi.

Travelling to new places is his favorite hobby, other than listening to music.
