LIONS OF LEMON TREE..............9

                                         LEMON TREE BROTHERS

"Sensitizing the normal co workers to connect and collaborate with the EWDs is the biggest challenge we are facing today. Having said that, we have made it a point that for every one working in Lemon Tree Hotels should acquire the skills on sign language. It has been made mandatory" says Narotam Singh, General Manager, Lemon Tree Premier, Hyderabad.

Now Santosh Kumar, General Manager, Redfox, Hyderabad has to say something which is equally  relevant: "we do conduct classes on sign language regularly; certificates also are given to those who complete the course; engagement activities are orchestrated to ensure that problems related to communication are minimized. We also conduct an annual family get together, so that we will exactly know, where we could help the EWDs better".

Narotam, the General Manager at the Lemon Tree Premier is an introverted person; he talks less but is insightful and displays sharp business acumen.  On the other hand, Santosh Kumar, the General Manager at the Redfox is an extrovert - he is action oriented and articulate. But the beauty is that
on all other parameters they are on the same page and they gel together as a great unit - always. Both are very people passionate; their leadership styles are very supportive to the EWDs; both are very understanding and they deeply care for their employees and guests alike. Both became GM's at a
young age. Both rose quickly in the career paths. Both are great in contribution and collaboration....and command respect from every co worker.

At work, both these “Lemon Tree Brothers” might have two different bodies; but their mind and goal is one.

In Hyderabad region, as of today there are 46 EWD's working on the shop floor Lemon Tree Premier (22) Lemon Tree (12) and Red fox (12). “Soon we will be recruiting seven more EWDs this year. By March 2015, we will be able to meet the 15 % target in terms of our EWD strength" says Narotam.

"In the initial stages, that is 2012, we have been finding it difficult to get the EWDs; today, we have the support of private NGOs also" informs Santosh Kumar.

During my recent stay at the Lemon Tree Premier, I have personally experienced the finesse in the service delivery of the EWDs. Everyone was extremely pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Most of them were Speech and Hearing Impaired. Nevertheless, they know how to please and pamper the
guests.  Incredibly quick footed they are, and their focus at work is laser sharp.

Wishing the”Lemon Tree Brothers” Good luck and Godspeed.
