"I CAN RUN"


                                                              


 Come September 2015, Karthik Reddy (25) working in Lemon Tree Hotel, Gachibowli, Hyderabad in the Housekeeping Department will be travelling to Kerala. As he happens to be the Captain of Hyderabad Cricket  'A' team. He will be participating in the Cricket Tournaments for the handicapped held in Kerala, which is a National Event.

He is the opening batsman, fast bowler also the Captain of the team. He is one the EWDs (Employees With Disabilities) working in this hotel. His right leg is a little handicapped because of the thigh joint bones disorder. He has been affected by this right from the time of birth.

"I can run like anybody else. Why should I be part of the handicapped cricket team? My dream is to play for/ be part of the general cricket team" asserts Mehaboobnagar born Karthik.

Karthik started playing cricket when he was just twelve years old. That is when he was studying in Seventh Standard. He has been part of the school/college team ever since then.

His lorry driver- turned RTC conductor father has been his role model.
"My parents are very happy that today their son Karthik is working in a mid scale star hotel like Lemon Tree" says Karthik Reddy.

Before joining this hotel he has worked in a private hospital in Hyderabad, where he has been working for 18 months in the Customer Relationship Cell. He rides a Hero Honda Passion plus Bike. He is fond of reading Telugu story books though; he studied in English medium in school/college. He had to discontinue  his B Tech studies halfway, because of some family problems. Nevertheless, he is very fluent in English.

"The HODs are very supportive and encouraging. Every co worker is so caring and friendly, including the General Manager of this hotel. It is my good fortune that I am part of the Lemon Tree Hotel family" admits Karthik.

"I would like to try my luck as a spinner, than a fast bowler".
