AWESOME AREN
The
bad experience from a low cost airline, during the time of her interview for the
post of air crew, made her stronger. She started thinking differently. Why not
I join the Hospitality Industry. she said ?
Positivity attracts positive things. She saw an advertisement in a local newspaper.
Marriott
Jaipur had a few vacancies. She applied. Appeared for the interview. Got
selected. Today, this girl who doesn't have a degree in hotel management is
donning the role of an F&B Executive, in the MOMO Cafe at the Courtyard
by Marriott in Gurgaon.
Meet Aren, the high potential 24 year old girl from Nagaland. Her full name is Arenbeula Jamir. After completing 12th
standard, she did a six month course at Dimapur, Nagaland and got her Diploma in
Aviation. She joined Marriott Jaipur in May 2011. The very next year, three
different awards came and sat on her shoulders lightly - The Superstar 2012,
Associate of the year 2012 and thirdly Associate of the Month Award !
"I was a hostess at Jaipur. There I learnt that in this industry it is
not the degree in hotel management that matters; whether you are really ready
to serve the guests selflessly from the bottom of your heart, is what
matters. It is all about common sense" opines Aren, who is very fond of
cooking.
Her thirst to learn more on F&B Service pushed her to apply for a transfer.
Soon, she landed at Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon in July 2013. She began her
stint at Gurgaon as an F&B Associate. As a natural consequence of her hard work
and dedication, she got nominated for the Executive Development Program. She
completed the training successfully and promptly lapped up the promotion as an F&B Executive.
"Aren is a star performer; she is very enthusiastic, guest centric and a very down to earth girl. She is one of the most charming associates guests want to
interact with" says Geetika Sharma,
HR Manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon.
Aren loves singing. Her father is working in the Army as a Welfare Officer; mom
is running a small General Merchandise Shop at Nagaland. She has two younger brothers. Both
are studying.
“It is the brand that matters most to me. Marriott is an international chain.
The culture of having an open door policy is what I like most here" says Aren, the
heroine of MOMO Cafe.
