LIONS OF LEMON TREE ....5

WITH A HEART FULL OF LIGHT

                                    

Divya may be partially blind; but she has a heart that is full of light; a heart that is very responsive to the needs of guests. Meet Divya, an EWD,(Employee With Disability) the hostess of Cleverfox Café (at the Redfox, by Lemon Tree Hotels, Hyderabad).Importantly, of the 46 EWDs employed in the Hyderabad region, she is the only female!!... The rest all are males.

In less than three months she has proved her talent to serve the guests. "Oho, today Divya is on her weekly off?" Akshay, her Manager had heard this question many a times, bounced by the long stayers and by the single lady guests of this hotel.

Now, listen to what Akshay, Assistant Manager F&B, Redfox have to say on Divya: "You imagine any possible service that is expected by the guests, during the breakfast sessions, she can deliver it".

Today morning I have been to the Cleverfox Cafe, in the Redfox Hotel to shoot the pictures of Divya and Akshay. I have been observing Divya at the Cafe floor for just five minutes or so... She radiates enthusiasm; smilingly, joyously she close loops things, connects with the guests without any inhibitions......exceptionally outstanding performance.

"You teach her once, tell her once what is to be done, she will take charge and complete the work flawlessly" says Akshay.

Yet another core job she handles is, attending the calls of the guests related to In Room Dining. The hotel management has provided a tube light exclusively for Divya so that she could clearly see the caller ID on the screen of the telephone.

After joining Redfox, in just 20 days, Divya ensured a job for her sister Deepika in the Front Office Department as Guest Service Associate, in Lemon Tree Premier. Deepika speaks very well. Both Divya and Deepika are pursuing their degree course by correspondence. Divya's younger brother is a gymnast known nationally. She lives with her mother and one younger sister in Hyderabad.

"I feel very good working here. My General Manager Santosh Kumar will often talk to my mother over phone. My mother knows that both her daughters will be taken care very well by the Lemon Tree Management" says Divya.

In less than three months, many a times, her name has appeared in the Trip advisor reviews contributed by the esteemed guests of this hotel. That speaks volumes on her service finesse at the Cleverfox Café.

To become an IAS officer -that is her ambition.
