Mohanty (28) dazzles and delights the esteemed guests at Trident Bhubaneswar through his fabulous floral arrangements every day; day
after day. Remember: his creativity is limitless;every day he presents
different designs and patterns; no wonder the guests are really captivated by
his magical art.
There are 14 Urlis in the hotel. His masterpiece being
the largest Urli placed in the lobby at the centre. Urlis filled with water are
first decorated with the flower petals which will work as a strong base; then
he places carefully and mindfully, the leaves and different flowers all sourced
from the 14 acres hotel campus itself, which are available in plenty.
Ninth Standard failed Mohanty has been doing this for the
last six years; all alone. Before the sun is up he starts off his work by
collecting the fresh flowers and leaves. He himself plucks it afresh. The
floral arrangement in the main lobby Urli will take minimum two hours to
complete. Banquet venue, lobby area (small urlis three), the chariot in the
lobby area which is closer to the swimming pool entrance, the suite rooms
(three), the washrooms in the lobby area(three), and the gym(two)…all together 14 urlis will
be decorated with different flowers/leaves. Each design will be different from
the other.
"I feel good; also I do thoroughly enjoy my work.
When the guests, especially the in room foreign guests appreciate my work, my
mind will be jumping with joy" says Mohanty.
Odisha born Mohanty lives with his mother, elder brother
and younger sister in Bhubaneswar, while, his father, elder brother, his wife
and children are living in their native village in Odisha itself.
