"I LOVE MY
JOB"
"In just five months seven guests have appreciated
my service through the guest comments cards. This makes me very happy. More
than the guests, when my supervisor Arvind
Sir appreciates me on my work, I will be happier. I really love my job. I
am very proud that I am part of Oberoi group" says Shairing Zimik (20), the Manipur girl who is presently working as
an Operational Trainee in The Oberoi
Grand, Kolkata.
"Two more classmates of mine, both from Shillong are
working in this hotel as Operational Trainees- Medha is in Front Office and Taphi
in the Kitchen."Shillong has only two star and three star properties. It
is my luck that I got job in this iconic hotel" says Zimik, a district
basketball player.
I do fully agree with Zimik. In fact, I have been
associated with The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata since 2006. This hotel
has a charm of its own. I was very impressed by the patronage of international
business travelers which happens to be one of the greatest assets to this
hotel. In my observation, for many business travelers, it is a place where one
can do business in true international style and comfort with its
technologically advanced business centres, in the warmth of a home.
Zimik's father is a Govt servant, mother a homemaker.
Zimik is the youngest. She has two elder brothers and two elder sisters.
"Every day" informs Zimik, "I will be
talking to my sister Tamsingphi over
phone".
Says Abhishek
Maithani, the Executive Housekeeper
of this hotel:"Zimik has picked up the work very quickly. She is soft
spoken, but whenever it is needed she is firm. Very popular with the guests.
Career oriented girl, undoubtedly".
Watching Korean movies is her hobby.
