TALENTED TENZIN
The European guest will be visiting Gurgaon twice/thrice
annually; every time, he will ensure that he uses the services of Tenzin; Thai
massage for two hours. Yet another NRI guest who runs a factory in Jaipur, will
be in Gurgaon once in three months. This business traveller always opts for
Swedish massage replete with strong pressure. And, the therapist he chooses
will be Tenzin.
I myself have experienced the skills of Tenzin last year,
when I have been staying in Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi. He is very focused at
his work. Talented worker.T hese are the qualities I like in him.
Meet Tenzin, the
Senior Spa Therapist, at Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi. This Tibetan boy had
joined Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi in June 2011. Got promoted as Senior Therapist
last year. Started his journey as a therapist, in Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, as
a trainee; learnt more on reflexology and Swedish massage from Dr Colin Hall,
UK based medical doctor, when he was in Ananda in the Himalayas. Started
teaching the basics on massage to junior therapists when he was in Leela Kempinski,
Gurgaon.
“I would love to help others. Be a giver, and you will be
happy in life" says Tenzin (30), "I do really work hard with my heart
and soul. I don't run after anything".
"My Manager, Jagpreet Kaur is very kind and caring.
As per my request, she has given me 3PM to 12pm shift. I would love to work in the evenings. In case, the guest
needs my services in the morning hours, I shall be there".
"Sleeping is the best meditation. I do sleep for 7
to 8 hours" says Tenzin who structures his time on weekly off days to play
basketball at the Siri Fort Sports Club.
"My dad passed away when I was just five years. He
was working with Indo Tibetan border police".
His mom is into sweater-shawl business; has a small shop
in Bikaner. Elder brother is an Artist living in Dehradun, elder sister, a
Nurse by profession, is living in France, married and blessed with a son. Younger
sister lives in Dehradun, married and blessed with three children.
What are the things you like most in Westin Gurgaon, New
Delhi? I asked.
"The Ambience of our SPA is amazing; co-workers are
so friendly; working environment is excellent" opines this Dehradun born
Buddhist boy.
