VIVACIOUS VIJITHA

"I would like to support my husband financially; it was my dream that we should construct a home with our own hard earned money. That is why I opted for this job"....says Vijitha (28) who is deputed at Vivanta by Taj, Bekal, Kerala in the Front Office. She supports the operations on Lobby service delivery.

Vijitha had joined this hotel in Nov 2011; incidentally, she happens to be the first   woman employee who has been recruited here. Hotel's soft opening happened in Dec   2011. Her dream has come true. Her own home is under construction.

Whether it is club car driving, duty at Time Office, or even Valet Parking, she is game for it. Her husband Satheesh is working as Physical Education Teacher in Bekal Higher Secondary School.

"My husband is very supportive on my working with Taj; there was displeasure on my joining here especially from some relatives and well wishers. In the early days, I was little uncomfortable; but, now I am very proud to be a member of Taj family" says Vijitha, a BSc Maths graduate.

"Initially, I used to think...I should have joined Finance Department. Now, I am very focused on my job. I would continue in the same post; do multitasking on lobby operations- that is what I want. My communication skills have improved a lot ever since I joined Taj" quips Vijitha.

She lives in Bekal with her mother and husband. She is blessed with Devananda, the only daughter. Her father is working in Gulf. Her brother is working in Sharjah airport.

In the first year itself, she had lapped up the award for best grooming.

The job has certainly catapulted her self esteem in a big way.
