ANGELS FROM NORTH EAST INDIA………..10

"LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES ARE APLENTY"

"In Manipur, my native place, there are very few opportunities for the SPA Therapists; here, in The Leela Palace, Udaipur, I have lot of opportunities to learn; I do remember, two years back, I even got a chance to attend a Workshop on Butler Training" quips L. Bembem Devi(26), having an experience of six years, under her belt, as Spa Therapist.

This Manipur girl asserts: "in Leela Palace, Udaipur, the quality of ESPA service is definitely superior".

Now, something about the essence of ESPA at The Leela Palace, Udaipur.

ESPA has created a personal spa experience encompassing outstanding treatments that reflect a fusion of the latest scientific advances with Ayurvedic and European Therapies. Together with the award winning ESPA range, the exceptionally natural, high quality skin care products, anti-stress oils, revitalizing seaweeds and cleaning muds, all achieve outstanding results to restore balance and equilibrium to mind and body.

Situated in a tranquil setting beside a Guava Garden, this tented ESPA has eight luxury tents that include a yoga and meditation tent as well as therapy suites with private pools.

Bembem Devi had joined this hotel in Jan 2011.Father is a small businessman; Mom, a retired government employee. She is the youngest in the family. Two elder sisters are married. All three brothers are self employed in Manipur itself.

Bembem Devi speaks English and Hindi fluently other than her mother tongue Manipuri. During the stay of Bhutan Queen in October 2011, it was Bembem who has been cherry picked for the 30 minute massage of this esteemed Guest.

"The interaction with the Bhutan Queen has been yet another learning opportunity for me" opined Bembem Devi.

One improvement area I had observed in the girls from North East India, has been that they do not save the hard earned money. They spend the same lavishly. But, Bembem is quite different:

"Every month, I will be saving at least 50 to 60 per cent of whatever I earn".

Good job Bembem. Keep it up.
