FROM JET AIRWAYS, MUMBAI

“I FILL FOCUS ON CREATING AS MANY MAYAS AS POSSIBLE”

The football legend Messi has decided to hang his boots but Maya - the Unit Head-Premiere, Jet Airways has not!

She has, in fact been given a year's extension by Jet Airways.

Maya Hariharan heads the legendary "Meet and Assist" team, popularly known as MAAS at Mumbai.  The MAAS team primarily handles VIPs and CIPs (Commercially Important People) plus unaccompanied minors, wheel chair passengers, first time flyers, elderly passengers etc. In Mumbai alone the MAAS team is 60 members strong- with two Senior Managers, eight Passenger Relations Executives, five Supervisors and the rest being Customer Service Agents.

Empowered by the rich experience of working at the Taj Group of Hotels (she worked at the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai between 1976-1992 in the Guest Relations Department) Maya opted to join Jet Airways in 2003.

"'It is only because of my hard work", says Maya Hariharan, who is known for her guest centric servitude, "that I have reached this position. “Over the next one year, I fill focus on creating as many Mayas as possible".

One thing that I noticed about Maya is that she really commands respect for her work.  All the MAAS Divas at Mumbai respect her a lot…the same goes for the passengers who have tasted the service finesse of Maya.

Says Malini, Passenger Relations Executive, also the face of Maas team at Kochi: "Maya mam is very enterprising; she is ready to help all the time".

Interestingly, one more thing I liked in Maya is this:  she is popularly known all over India as "Maya mam".

A Tamilian by birth, Maya was born in Mumbai and she lives with her husband Hariharan in Mumbai now. Her son Abhishek works in an Advertising Agency while her daughter in law Neha is a film editor.

She is blessed with a Grandson ‘Aadi’.
