FROM WILDFLOWER HALL, SHIMLA

MARRIED TO OBEROI DHARMA

I met Sandeep Verma at the Wildflower Hall in Shimla. On 18 Aug this year in the evening hours at “The Restaurant”, the only F&B venue of this hotel. In just two days of my stay, this 27 year old F&B Executive impressed me a lot. He speaks sweetly and supports his co-workers generously. This is what I liked in him the most.

On the first day, in our first meeting when I told him that I will try Himachali Thali, he quickly deployed his suggestive selling skills and quipped"  Sir, today you please  have whatever I suggest  to you.  And tomorrow you can sample the Himachali Thali".  I was delighted by his confidence and effortless conviction to serve.

Sandeep consciously conceives and carefully executes his work, which is why there is nothing too difficult for him. Whether it  is giving information  on  ‘The Restaurant ‘ or helping me to shoot pictures with the Chefs and other staff members ………..to connecting with the General Manager, he was there to assist me – always. Very trustworthy person.
I found the way he greets the guests with folded hands and upright posture, very appealing. I felt throughout that his personal values resonate with the Oberoi Dharma, which is why he was confident at work and in his guest interactions.

Son of a businessman, Shimla born Sandeep lapped up his Hotel Management degree in 2009. He joined Wildflower Hall, Shimla as an F&B Assistant;got promoted as F&B Supervisor in 2012; cleared the Executive Development Program in June this year. Achieved the highest LQA audit scores for two consecutive years. Not over - the ‘highest Guest Service Excellence’ record also belongs to him.

Listen to what his General Manager Sumit Joshi says on his inimitable attributes:

“Sandeep has been associated with the Wildflower Hall team for the last 5 years. He joined as an Assistant in the Food and Beverage department and rose to the level of an Executive through his sincerity, hard work and strong determination. He has contributed to the success of the department and the hotel in all facets ranging from guests, team and profitability. His strength being excellent knowledge of the product, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to train and lead his team. He continues to be hands on at his work and leads by example for the team. A true demonstration of Oberoi values and a key asset to our organization”.

Playing cricket, cooking and exploring places are his main hobbies.
Sandeep is a bachelor.  Anyway, presently he is married to “Oberoi Dharma”.
