Presently I am staying at Westin Mumbai Garden City, Mumbai.
Here, in the public area, I observed a silent worker - 27 year old Vijay Mahalle, son of a farmer in Nagpur.
He is working in the Housekeeping Department of this hotel. Keeping the public area neat and clean is his
job.
This happened on 29 May 2014 - In the Westin Woods, (Banquet Venue) right from the morning there was a function happening, while adjoining lawn was being used
by the In Room Guests.
At around 6.30 pm, Vijay, who was on his rounds, observed an
expensive necklace in the lawns. Remember: it was worth three lakh rupees. He promptly informed the same to his bosses.
At the same time, the In Room Guest, who had noticed that their necklace was missing, had informed the Duty Manager about their lost necklace.
To
cut the long story short, the necklace was returned to the right owner the same day.
Thanks to Vijay !
The then Area General
Manager Anuraag Bhatnagar promptly announced a cash award for Vijay . He was also
honoured with the “Best employee of the Month” award.
"He is very reliable. Even in my absence, he will
perform flawlessly" says Sachin ,
Team Leader in charge of the public area cleaning. Niranjan Kumar, Assistant Manager Housekeeping says: "Vijay is
very trustworthy".
Vijay, son of a farmer has catapulted the image of the hotel
by his honesty.
His benevolent thoughts and kind feelings will guide always guide him on
the right path.
Those who are honest truly live. Heaven will never forsake
those who are honest.
