Recently, for three days, (10 to 12 June 2015) I was staying at Westin Sohna Resort and Spa at Gurgaon. On 13 June 2015, I was down with food
poisoning. That day, I was staying at Westin
Gurgaon, New Delhi. I needed some medicines. Anuj Kumar (35) from the concierge showed up. He is a Guest Service
Agent who has been working in this hotel since Feb 2012. I gave him Rs 500.
Anuj came back with the medicines. The bill shows Rs 200/- only. But, he
returned Rs 310/- to me. I promptly pointed out that an excess amount of
Rs.10/- has been given to me, by mistake.
Anuj replied: "Sir, the medical shop has given a discount of Rs.10/- to you".
I was really surprised at his honest reply. He could have
as well pocketed the ten rupees and I would not have even known but he opted to speak the truth.
I really appreciate his honesty. He is a
great asset to Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi. Many a times, he has helped me. He is
very responsive to the needs of the guests.
Honesty is like pregnancy. .....one is either pregnant or not .....there is nothing in between.
Honesty is found deep within Anuj Kumar's heart. Honest men are like good books revealing ......new enchantments
at each new encounter.
