"Yes, we were very rich, till my father's death.
That was in 2007. My Father, a
contractor had lots of debt. We were forced to sell our land, home
everything...those days were very difficult… It is in this situation I decided
that when I am 18 I will leave my home searching for a job", Yapo, the hostess at The Glass House at
Eastin Ahmedabad became very emotional while narrating her life after the
demise of her dad.
"When I was 18, I started working. My first job was
in Deltin Suites, Goa. I left the job after four months. That was a big
mistake. In fact, I learnt a lot about Front Office there" recalls Class 12 pass Yapo, born in Arunachal Pradesh.
"When you leave your home, your learning period
starts. I would like to know about the world; more about the different dimensions
of life".
"Even when I make mistakes, my co-workers correct me
lovingly. I am very safe here in the hotel as well as in Ahmedabad. Every day,
I learn something new; I meet new people. In fact, I learn about "life".
I am enjoying my work here thoroughly" says Yapo who has been working in
this hotel for the last two months.
"Cafeteria food is okay; Gujarati cuisine is very
sweet; I like Dhokla and Khamand. In my native place, the climate is
salubrious, here in Ahmedabad, it is so hot...Oh! ho" wonders Yapo.
When I told her I have great respect on the North East
Indians Yapo was happy. When I told her that I have written 27 blogs on girls from North East India, she was happier.
Yapo's family includes two elder brothers, elder sister
and a younger sister. They all are living in Arunachal Pradesh.
