FROM THE WESTIN SOHNA RESORT & SPA, GURGAON

FROM INDONESIA, TO LEARN ON INDIAN FOOD

                                      

"We reached here last Sunday, that is 31 Aug 2014. we have been sent from Westin Bali on a 20 days cross exposure training on Indian food" says Chef Winata (43),Sous Chef, Westin Bali, Indonesia. "Along with me, Chef Adiputra (39) also will get trained. First ten days we will be in Westin Sohna, and next ten days our training will happen in Westin Gurgaon".

Remember: Westin Bali is 450 room.Five Star hotel.

There are many similarities in these two Chefs. Both are working in Westin Bali; for both of them this has been their first job; both are continuing in the same hotel since then. Both are married. God has blessed both with two children-one boy and one girl. Their wives are home-makers. Both are Hindus. For both this is their first trip to India. Both are living in Bali. Both can speak in Balinese, Indonesian and English languages.


Winata has a two year hotel management diploma under his belt; presently is working in the hot kitchen where he handles Indonesian, Italian and European food. Married to Sunadi. Son Yoga; Daughter Putri. Chef Winata had been to Japan, Australia, Hongkong, China and Singapore in connection with the promotion initiatives on Balinese and Indonesian cuisine.

Adiputra (39) Senior CDP, in Westin Bali is in charge of the Indian cuisine; the Indian restaurant is part of the 150 seater coffee shop of this hotel. Delhi's Rajendra Kumar happens to be the Indian chef of this hotel. Adi, after completing his one year diploma in hotel management had joined Westin Bali. He specializes in Indian cuisine, but is very good at Western and Indonesian. Married to Anita Devi. Daughter Dinda Adi (16) Son Radya Adi (12). He has been to Luxembourg and South Korea for the Indonesian food festivals pitched in these countries.
