"JIMBU, I AM MISSING YOU"
"I was so nervous; it was the
final round where I will be meeting the GM; the interview was happening in
Grand Oberoi, Kolkata. The girl who had gone for the interview just before me
had told me that lots of questions were asked. This made me all the more
nervous" says Rewati Tamang
(25), presently working as butler in
The Oberoi, Gurgaon, since June
2014.
She was explaining to me on the attributes of Oberoi culture.

"George Kuruvilla, the GM of The Grand Oberoi Kolkata opened the door
of his cabin and welcomed me in; I am surprised to see the humility of this GM;
he was very courteous, very caring.....by then I had the sigh of relief. No
tough questions were asked to me. George Kuruvilla complimented me on my
grooming and he also gave me a feedback that I should improve my communication
skills".
"Pune is very far from your place. Why did you opt for Pune for the
Industrial Training? GM asked me.
"I really like visiting new places" I replied. GM complimented
me again for my reply. Now, I was totally relaxed".
"I have been selected from the campus interview and have been given three
choices- Delhi, Gurgaon and Bengaluru. I opted for Gurgaon."
Born in a Nepali Buddhists family in Assam, Rewati lapped up her Hotel Management degree from IHM
Guwahati, Assam. Her father has been a Chinese Chef and presently he is doing
catering business promptly supported by his wife. Rewati's younger brother is a
B Com student.
"My
brother will help my father in finance and accounts after passing B Com"
says Rewati jocularly.
Are you missing anything? I just bounced a silly question.
"Yes. My JIMBU". My dad will
often send HIS video clippings to me.
NOTE: JIMBU is her pet, a Labrador dog.
