SERVICE FROM THE HEART
"Many people discouraged me; but, I was confident. I decided to continue .In the hotel industry, one should be ready to serve from the heart; that is the most important thing", says Mizoram born HRUAII (24) who is presently working as the hostess of Threesixtyone restaurant which is known for its five interactive kitchens, at The Oberoi, Gurgaon (New Delhi capital region).
Being an arts graduate, and not having a hotel management degree has been a stumbling block for Hruaii(pronounce it as Shuwayee) to pursue her career in the hotel industry. After passing out BA in 2011, she joined a five star hotel in Pune... Started from the scratch… Learnt the basics with great difficulty…served the guests in the role of a stewardess of the F&B department.
"I do really like working in the F&B department. Meeting people from different countries is indeed a learning experience for me" says Hruaii, who had joined the Oberoi Gurgaon in the month of June this year.

"I am now getting
used to food, saving habits etc. In Pune,
food has been a big problem . In Mizoram, we do not add masalas at all. But, in
Gurgaon, I am liking the cafeteria food; I have started saving right from the
first month onwards, which has not been the case, when I was in Pune".She asserted that she could save month after month around 60 per cent of the total earnings, ever since she joined the Oberoi Gurgaon." the service standards at the Oberoi are outstanding; the 15 day induction period has been a real eye opener for me. Two days in each department helped me to enrich my general fund of knowledge on hotel industry in a big way ".
Though watching TV and reading novels has been her hobby, presently, she focuses more on her work. Working for long hours while attending the guests is the real joy for her. Her carpenter father passed away in 2009. After that her three elder brothers, all carpenters, have been earning for the family. Younger sister is studying , also two younger brothers. All family members are living together with her mom, a homemaker, in Mizoram.
