"God's
grace, my son Aarav can speak and
listen like my parents; my wife Antim
can listen; can't speak ; If it is very close, I can listen through the right ear;
but I can't speak" says Sonu Tyagi,
25 yr old Trainee in HR department in the Ambassador Hotel, New Delhi (Vivanta
by TAJ).
He is on
cloud nine as TAJ Ambassador had welcomed him to be part of the TAJ family by
offering around 70 per cent more salary than what he was earning in his
previous job.
"I learnt
the sign language from him" jocularly says Satish Kumar, HR Executive,
Ambassador, New Delhi. Who is constantly in touch with Sonu, guiding and
mentoring him.
Sonu Tyagi
had joined Taj one month back and he has picked up the skills very fast. Compiling
the details on ESI, PF in Excel Sheets, checking attendance of the contract
employees, typing out letters etc are his main responsibilities.
12th
passed Sonu travels 17 Kms, on his bike, every day from his home to reach TAJ
Ambassador.
"Sonu
has the urge to learn; he close loops things fast, his computer skills are
incredible; after finishing the work given, he will look forward for the
next" informs Akshay Kapur, HR
Manager.
"My
knowledge in English and Hindi are very poor. But, I am very good at computer"
a confident Sonu informs me. He has completed a six months computer training in
MS.Office from Noida Deaf Society.
Sonu is
glued to his office chair all the time. Completely focused at the job given to
him.
"We
have plans to employ some more differently abled people in our hotel in other
departments" says Suman Gahlot,
General Manager, Ambassador, New Delhi……
