"HOTELS IN INDIA DO OFFER MORE SERVICES"

His grandfather had lived in India for four years; it was in New Delhi; now, it is the turn of the grandson, ADRIEN SWENNEN (26) who has been destined to stay in India for three months. It is in Mumbai.

Adrien is working as Catering Sales Assistant (trainee) in THE WESTIN MUMBAI GARDEN CITY, Goregaon, East Mumbai. Brussels born Adrien has been lucky to get his trip completely sponsored by the Belgium Govt. In return, he has to submit his report to the Belgium Govt on his observations and learnings on the Indian Hospitality and Cuisine.

"In Belgium, the manpower is very expensive, when compared to India. There, we can't afford to offer services like Hostess in the restaurant, Airport Representative, or a Doorman. The guests are pampered in India with more services" says Adrien, a Hotel Management Graduate, Rugby player plus an Amateur Theatre Artist.

When asked about his experience in Westin Mumbai, he quipped: "The workforce of this hotel is very impressive. They do enjoy their work; they are very passionate, helpful and hospitable".

After passing out from the Hotel Management College, Adrien worked as a Receptionist in a Five Star Hotel in Spain. Later, joined another hotel in Brussels; after working for two years in this hotel, he quit his job only to travel the entire Europe.

Widely travelled Adrien has been to USA (to learn English), to Morocco (to attend a Hospitality Seminar) to Cuba (to learn on the style life there).

He stays in Andheri, travels in an Auto rickshaw; in 30 minutes he will reach the hotel. Dal, Paneer, Roti and Palak are the most sought after things by him in Indian Cuisine.

His grandfather SERGE DE ROBIANO has been the Ambassador of Belgium, around 40 years back, located in New Delhi. His father is a Govt employee; mother is a housewife. His elder sister is married; two younger brothers also live with his parents in Brussels, in Belgium.
